It was a 90 minutes of beautiful music and enjoyment, such a nice break from political situation.

Many readers may have realized by now that in December 2013 Thai protesters have been shot dead by unidentified people in police uniform. Police shot people dead in broad daylight and no one accepted any responsibility. Police spokesman made excuses instead of investigation report. It is always a tragedy to be amid cruelty.

So, I left the situation outside the concert hall and let music filled my mind. This is the second year Siam Sinfonietta has staged the New Year Concert. The youths are good musicians who have been trained to go for the better. Maestro Somtow Sucharitkul and conductor Trisdee Na Patalung have done a good job. They tried to make the programme enjoyable to everyone.

Most hilarious part was the closing encore when 6 year old Por Por conducted a piece which he called ‘Litzditzki March’. He was so calm and did the job well. At the end of the piece he even shook hands with the Concert Master. That move sent the crowd roaring with laughter.
