Every year the French community in Thailand organizes culture festival (la fête) to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries. 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the French Association in Thailand (L’Alliance française de Bangkok). So, it is an occasion to celebrate.

The festival started with opening concert by Bangkok Symphony Orchestra with Jean-Paul Penin as conductor. The orchestra was accompanied by a choir of 100 student singers from various universities in Thailand with Henri Pompidor as choir master.

Before the concert, there was a cocktail reception at the National Museum nearby. The National Museum has been a palace of the second king during early Bangkok era. Buildings are still well preserved. It was a romantic outdoor cocktail among beautiful buildings. Since the museum is situated near the river, it was nice and breezy in the evening, making such a nice atmosphere to be entertained by French wine and cocktail.
